Amir Sabra

Amir Sabra is a dancer and choreographer who was born in Nablus, Palestine and is based in Dublin. Still closely connected to his native country, he is director of the Palestinian dance company Stereo48. While his practice is rooted in breakdance, he combines traditional and contemporary dance in his shows.

Amir Sabra has a Masters degree in contemporary dance and performance from Limerick University, Ireland. He took part in the Belgian-Palestinian project Badke, jointly produced by Ballets C de la B (Ghent), KVS (Brussels) and the A.M. Qattan Foundation (Ramallah).


He began his career as a choreographer in 2017 with Hiphopgeez, produced by Stereo48 Dance. Following this, he created Journey to Jerusalem


In 2019, he danced in Imprint with Pokemon Crew (France). In 2021, he performed Floating on the Dead Sea with Catherine Young Dance. 


His first solo, Within this Party, is an improvised dance performance inspired by dabkeh and hip-hop that premiered in 2022. His latest piece What Did You Do Behind the Curtain was awarded the Prix Technique by Danse Élargie (Théâtre de la Ville, Paris).
